The Changcuters is an Indonesian band from Bandung that is set to tour the United Kingdom this year. They will be performing in three cities, namely Newcastle, Edinburgh, and London during their tour from April 12 to 23, 2026. For Tria, Dipa, Qibil, Alda, and Erick, this tour is a dream come true. It will also mark their actual relocation to London as a band.
This journey to the UK has brought back memories of their song “Hijrah Ke London” from the album “Mencoba Sukses Kembali” released in 2008, which was originally created just for fun. According to The Changcuters on Instagram, the song was born 20 years ago not as a plan, but as a product of imagination and playful experimentation, nurturing the audience through the whimsical character ‘Captain Qibil.’
Now, the song has transcended mere lyrics to become a step, a route, and a journey that they are finally undertaking. The Changcuters, known for their slick hairstyles and tight jacket-and-pants uniforms, made their mark on the Indonesian music scene in 2005.
The band’s formation stemmed from the friendship of Dipa (bass), Tria (vocals), and Qibil (guitar) during their college years. Qibil later invited two high school friends, Alda (guitar) and Erick (drums), to join the band. Two years later, in 2008, they released the album “Mencoba Sukses Kembali,” featuring hits like “Racun Dunia” and “I Love You Bibeh.” The name “The Changcuters” suddenly became synonymous with successful bands.
Having been in the industry for over two decades, The Changcuters proved themselves as one of the most enduring and solid bands in the Indonesian music scene by maintaining their original lineup throughout. Despite facing health challenges with their vocalist in the past, they continue to actively create music and fulfill one of their biggest dreams through an international tour, especially in the United Kingdom.
